Kathmandu to Lukla
Day 1 of 15A short hop over the Hinku valley, then the first honest step of the trip — the stone trail climbing through oak and rhododendron to the teashops of Phakding.

Namche Bazaar
Day 3 of 15The Sherpa capital hanging in the cloud. Acclimatise high and sleep low, and watch Ama Dablam’s face fill with morning gold from your own veranda.

Tengboche
Day 5 of 15One of the largest monasteries in the Khumbu. Butter lamps, a drumming dawn, mani stones worn smooth by generations of hands.

Day 7 of 15The air is thin and honest here. A graded walking day with the Chhukung Ri hike above, and the Himalaya filling every degree of sky.

Gorak Shep
Day 9 of 15A last push along the Khumbu glacier, yak bells close. From the small ridge above camp, Everest has already started to glow.

Day 10 of 155,364 metres. The icefall on your left, Lhotse’s face on your right — and the highest mountain on Earth standing quietly in front of you.

A Kathmandu-based designer shapes the journey; a local leader who has walked it for a decade leads it. You travel with both.

Permits — handled, never handed
Sagarmatha, ACAP, TIMS and restricted-area paperwork is completed before you land. Your first morning is for walking, not queueing.

Family-run lodges, chosen by walking
Warm, clean teahouses picked over years on foot — never by a booking engine. The ones where the kitchen smells like thukpa at seven.

Mountain kitchens, real food
Local produce with international warmth. Dinner is the day’s slowest hour, and the best — snow views, tea, and a table full of stories.

Supplemental oxygen and first aid with every group, daily altitude checks, contingency days built in, and two leaders who know every exit.

06 Before you ask
The practical questions.
The things every traveller asks before the trailhead — answered straight, the way our designers answer them over tea in Kathmandu.
Eight to twelve months for spring and autumn; two to four for shoulder dates. Private journeys and Upper Mustang benefit from earlier — restricted permits are capped at eight travellers per guide, and we hold the slots you need before the season opens.
